Could be that you don't have a FoxUser file in your system folder...
Foxbase is usually set to low memory conditions - set the memory setting of
the application so it has access to more, bring the monitor colors down to
at least thousands (millions gobbles up more RAM). Haven't used package
much that's All I can think of, but it sounds like a missing FoxUser file
with that error message to me.

I'm attempting to update an *old* client's runtime Mac dbms, using
FoxBase+/Mac, and FoxPackage (which makes standalone apps). Foxpackage
will only run on old systems with less than 10MB RAM. After compiling
the app, launching on a newer computer gives the error msg:
"Error: #strings in res file"
The program runs fine on the LC III I "compiled" it on. It's been ages
since I've done any xbase work, and I've completely forgotten what
causes this error, or what the fix is. It's something to do with
FoxPackage though, not anything in the .PRG's. Does anyone remember
what causes this, and what the fix is? |
