Default XML standard for SQL DDL - 07-24-2003 , 07:59 AM

Dear group

Does someone of you know about an existing XML standard to describe the DDL
part of SQL?
I would like to describe a database structure, if there is already a
"standard" in XML would be better to use it instead of developing something
new...

Thanks a lot

Philipp

Hi,

I've been actively working on a project specifically focusing on DDL
definition through XML.

All files conform to an XML Schema definiton, and is highly flexible for
any database.

Although a pretty good core exists, I'm still hard at work. My goal is
to introduce it as a top level Apache or Jakarta project when I'm happy
enough with its functionality.

Check it out and let me know what you think:

I think it is a vapourware announcement for yet another tool to translate
xsd to ddl.

Its nothing of the sort.

I merely use xsd to define the sqlml language set. It does not
translate xsd to ddl, it translates xMl to ddl (using xsd to verify
integrity).

I'm still in active development...i.e. it is not a stagnant project.
