Default Where to get ODBC drivers for ASE 11.5 ? - 12-16-2003 , 07:15 AM

I am not a Sybase admin, but I have recently taken over responsibility
for an old Sybase database running on:

Adaptive Server Enterprise/11.5.1.1/P/RS6000/AIX4.1/SWR 8509 ESD
1/FBO/Thu Jun 17 19:06:23 UTC 1999

Yes, I know this is out of support, and doing an upgrade is on my list
as soon as I have time to fight the bureaucracy, but I have other
problems first.

I need to be able to access the server using ODBC. We had a single PC
setup with the correct ODBC drivers running reports via Excel pivot
tables, but this PC crashed and the original 11.5 ODBC driver software
is no where to found. In fact none of the installation CDs are to be
found anywhere.

I checked on sybase.com and cannot find these. Are they available to
download from somewhere else? Or are they supplied only on the
installation CD?

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Tom.

The ODBC driver will be on the PC Client CD that comes with ASE.
So if you plan to upgrade to a more recent version, and if you
order the software now, it will contain (but check with Sybase)
the ODBC driver.

Also the client software, now renamed in 'Sybase Developer Kit'
will contain the odbc driver. I'm not sure how compatible versions
are, though.

Luc.
