Hi Rob

I have been to your site many a times in the past. Its excellent in
many respects from aperson who would wnat to jump strat into ASE.But
sometimes reading from the comp is painful i would prefer your books
and visit your site ocassinally for updates. However i am discouraged
that the pricing of the book is two steep..for me to actually even
consider buying it.

I wish you would have published the book through oreilly or someone
and make it more easily available .I am from india..so the pricing
seems exorbiant..

Hrishy

Rob's books are excellent. I use them almost every 2 weeks. You get what
you pay for. Simple, too the point or free. Free from www.sybase.com and
read their books. You will have to read them a few times but you will get
ti.

Good luck.

Yes I agree. If you are a sybase professional then atleast once you
have to read Rob's books. Its user friendly and great tips.
But what all of us are feeling about the price. It is too high if you
convert in to Indian Rupees. Because of the price this book is not
reaching many of the professionals particularly beginers.
Rob Please think about it.

I did!
In fact, I tried to contact the Sybase representative in India with a
discounted offer for local Sybase users in India (provided a certain
volume of books is purchased centrally). My first attempt was about
1.5 years ago and recently I tried again. Unfortunately, I didn't get
a response in either case.
I have done a similar deal with Sybase in South Africa, and that has
worked well for all parties involved. I'd be interested to do this for
India as well if I can find a reliable party to work with.

Hi Rob

How about orielly .Did you get in touch with them..Its not the
question of india i think. Its the question of mileage you would
receive on your Books when they reach many countries...Its a shame
that sybase folks are so lousy..they are not even bothered to help
respond a person (Rob) who would be the ambassador for spreading
sybase knowledge.

Actually, I did talk to O'Reilly back in 1999 but they didn't want to
publish any Sybase-related books because they felt there was no market
for it...
