The last best practices document that I saw for Sybase stated that SSL
should be used for all database connections.

Turns out that this got added to the Sybase database standards wehre I
work as a mandatory item. The Sybase community had signed off on the
standard and its now official.

We jsut had a review of a number of our Sybase applciaitons and "SSL
not enabled" came up as one of the findings.

The key question that I need to get answered is "has anyone
implemented SSL connectivity" and what's the impact for the general
users and other hosts trying to connect to the databases?"
