Default OpenVMS/Sybase certification - 07-27-2004 , 02:06 AM

Sybase have now retired their product set on OpenVMS. According to the
Sybase Support Certifications web page :
http://www.sybase.com/detail/1,6904,1010821,00.html the last certification
performed was SQL Server 11.0.3.2 on OpenVMS 7.3. Does anybody know :

1) Have any certifications been done against later versions of the OS (e.g.
7.3-2) ?
2) Are any more certifications likely to happen ?
3) Are any customers out there successfully using Sybase 11.0.3.2 on later
versions of OVMS than 7.3 ?

Thanks for any help.

Steve

All the 'certs' shown on that URL are 'paper' certs. It is highly unlikely
that any further certs will be issued. Sybase stopped active development on
VMS about 5 years ago because they saw the Sybase market on VMS going
nowhere.

Alpha AXP OpenVMS 7.3 11.0.3 This is a paper cert, based on analysis from
the Compaq engineering team -

Alpha AXP OpenVMS 7.2-1 11.0.3 This is a paper cert, based on analysis from
the DEC engineering team. Covers 7.2 & 7.2-1. -

Alpha AXP OpenVMS 7.2 11.0.x This is a paper cert, based on analysis from
the DEC engineering team. Covers 7.2 & 7.2-1. -

Alpha AXP OpenVMS 7.1 11.0.x This is a paper certification based on a Binary
compatibility letter received from Digital

1> select @@version
2> go
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SQL Server/11.0.3.3/P/DEC AXP/OpenVMS V6.2/SWR 8706/OPT/3-NOV-1999
17:47:34.58

$ show system/noprocess
OpenVMS V7.3 on node ...

We only have Sybase running for the purposes of data conversions ...
not for production use. We migrated to Oracle 8i and 9i on OpenVMS.
I have not yet tried on OpenVMS version 7.3-1 nor on 7.3-2 ... and
probably will not need to do that.

Sorry. No help here.
