Default How Long Should a CR take? - 02-05-2009 , 10:20 AM

I have an open CR, #556167. It has to do with this PHP bug:

Customer is using the Sybase module for PHP; the only method for
retrieving a query error in PHP is sybase_get_last_message(). This
is related to PHP bugid 11262, open since 2001...
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=11262&edit=2

It's been 3 weeks since my support rep entered it, how long does
one have to wait?

Hello,

Sybase CRs are addressed based on a priority/point system. CR 556167
was logged as a Feature Request. Feature Requests get very little in
the
way of points and are not guaranteed to be fixed at all.

Actual bugs get more points than feature requests. Anything with 80
points
or more and an open support case generally get fixed in the next
release.

I can see from the case that the Technical Support Manager added your
business case and added the maximum number of points that they are
allowed to add to the priority. So CR 556167 has a priority of 56
which
is not high enough for engineering to work on it right away.

You can reopen your technical support case and try pushing a little
harder.

Also, PHP appears to be open source so I don't know how hard it would
be to get it fixed.

Regards,
Neal
