We have multiple database servers running on one machine, is there any
way for a client program not running on the local network to find the
port address of a database so it can connect to it ? At the moment I
have no problem connecting to the database that runs on the default
port, however I cannot connect to any of the others without
specifiying the port. I know we could use dblocate to find the port's
when on the local network but sometimes the servers are restarted and
they use different ports. The only other way I can see is to specify
the port when starting the databases but I would much prefer to find
the port using the client if I can.
