Hello All: I am very new to Sybase. I was doing an install on Hp-UX for Sybase 12.5 The Sybase Manual for installing Sybase Servers say to do the following: Enable asynchronous disk I/O. This step is mandatory for HP users. It tells you the steps. a) From the SAM Kernel configuration menu, choose Drivers and set the Pending State for asyncdisk to In. (this parameter cannot be change) please explain how I am to do this. b) From the Actions Menu rebuild the Kernel c) At the Unix Prompt , execute the following statements as "root" The user ID of the user who is booting Adaptive Server and Backup Server must be in the owner of the /dev/async directory. /etc/mknod /dev/async c 101 4 chmod 0660 /dev/async chown sybase /dev/async Please explain, but mainly how and where to make change to Pending State for asyncdisk to IN. thanks dlj |
