Default ase 12.5.2 on hpux - 09-01-2004 , 07:30 AM






Hi,

i have tried to install ase 12.5.2 (downloaded from SPDC). After starting
the setup program i have got the following java exception:

Running InstallShield Wizard...
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: run

Is there anybody out there who can help me?

Yes :-)

You need to install a newer JDK. I usually install the J2SE JDK from
java.sun.com.

This looks like JAVA_HOME and/or CLASSPATH are not set properly in the
environment. Also, make sure there are no spaces in CLASSPATH.

Also found this on sybase.com, though I'm not sure if you're even
using a CD:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClssDefFoundError.run

This error appears when the CD has the same label/volume ID as a
previous CD used on the same machine. There are two workarounds:

1.Reboot between installations of CDs with the same volume ID.
2.Login as root and remove all sybasecd* entries in /vol/dsk.

Performing either of these workarounds resolves the exception.
