So:
In Windows the count is not usable.
It is ALWAYS 10!

Yes, the documentation says that it does not work:http://www.postgresql.org/docs/curre...onfig-connecti...
Ok, but it is nothing about 10.

I experienced that I have two ways to set these values.

1.) Basically the postgresqls.conf
2.) set parameters before query (this override 1.)

Every of them effective, I tried it with two queries from another
machine.

That's how it is supposed to work.

Did you read the documentation before you asked?
Yes, but help not showing this formula.
Timeout = Idle + (Interval * Count)

And about Windows specials, like Count = 10...

The same thing, more or less. Setting these parameters works only
on operatin systems that support the feature.
The documentation will tell you details.
There is nothing about "under Windows Vista the count parameter is
based on... Higher Windows uses 10 for count".

Other problem that Windows uses msecs, PGSQL seconds.

My first fail based that I set the count in postgresql.conf, and
setsock call failed.
In this case I got the 2 hours timeout...

Thanks for your help:
