Default can I restore window's Postgresql BKUP to a SUN SPARC server? - 08-11-2008 , 10:05 AM

I know backup and restoratio between Linux/Windows is fine, but what about
Sun SPARC platform, SUN sparc is using BLOCK, which is different with
window/linux's

So can I restore windows' to SUN SPARC platform?

I am not sure what you mean by "backup" and "restore".

If you are talking about pg_dumpall, they yes, that will work
from any platform to any other platform.

If you are talking about pg_start_backup() - tar - pg_stop_backup(),
then no, this will not work across platforms.

Thanks Laurenz.

Sorry, I didn't state it clearly, but you gave me the answer already.

BTW, where are you located?
