Default PostgreSQL booting automaticaly - 01-13-2004 , 03:48 AM

Hello

I'm using Red Hat 9 in text mode (X-Windows would have a negative influenceon performance). How could I make sure that PostgreSQL starts automaticaly? Now I have to load the server manualy.

I do not have a lot of experience with Linux, just the basic skills.

Hi,

Could also be a good idea to have it start manually so that you can first
check the system is otherwise running ok and then start servers.

For no-X environment check out Trustix. Comes with PgSQL (7.3), MySQL, Apache,
php, proftpd, ssh and installs at around 300 mb. Small, secure and stable, by
default nothing is started at boot but bare essentials.

BR,

Aarni
