Default pg 8.0b2, psql problem - 09-28-2004 , 10:18 AM

I do not seem to be able to get into psql after installing. I am unable to
authenticate for user 'postgres.' I am using the password I created upon
installation. Using Windows XP Professional. Any help (I know I'm
overlooking something very obvious) would be greatly appreciated.

Is PostgreSQL running?
What message do you get when you try to start PSQL? (copy & paste is good).

A clean install fixed it. Don't ask me what was different the second time
around. Thanks for the help.
