Default [ANN] FireStorm/DAO now fully supports Postgres - 02-09-2004 , 10:52 AM

Latest release (v2.0.5.5) of FireStorm/DAO now provides full support
for Postgres databases.

FireStorm/DAO makes Java software developers more productive by
generating the business logic for accessing relational databases in
service-oriented and object-oriented architectures. The benefits
provided by CodeFutures' approach are higher developer productivity,
better software quality, and lower maintenance costs.

FireStorm imports database schema definitions from SQL scripts or from
live databases via JDBC and then generates a complete data-access tier
based on the Data Access Object (DAO) design pattern. The generated
source code is well-written, consistent and contains documentation.
FireStorm can generate source code based on JDBC/SQL and can also
generate Java Data Object (JDO) source code as well as EJB Entity
Beans for leading J2EE application servers, such as JBoss, BEA
WebLogic and IBM WebSphere.

FireStorm/DAO is a powerful yet simple alternative to traditional
object-relational mapping products. Rather than attempting to map
arbitrary Java code to a database schema using complex rules,
FireStorm adopts a more pragmatic approach of generating Java source
code that is a one-to-one representation of a relational database
schema.
