Default Newbie needing urgent info on autocommit in libpq - 05-09-2005 , 07:50 AM

I have just installed 7.2.1 on Linux Debian Woody. Normally I would RTFM
and catch up with all the newsgroups and set up experimental DBs and
apps, but now I have to port a wrapper lib and an application from
Oracle OCI to PostgresQl in a hurry, I mean like yesterday is too late.

And one of the requirements is *NO AUTOCOMMIT*, only explicit commits in
the application itself are allowed. Whatever happens, the wrapper lib
should never commit anything, even on disconnect.

I started with libpq, but I am hopelessly confused by apparently
contradictory web pages. So: is it possible to use libpq this way? How
do I do that? Or should I switch to ODBC?

TIA
