So, while she's clutching the WY-50 with both hands, you can just stroll
up and shoot her? Somehow, the NRA version carries more menace. <g>

Yes while I agree with the wyse as a weapon approach, the goal in this case
is to elminate what I see as the greater evil...
22 serial printers attached to a digiboard.
We proposed to them jetdirects or other print servers since all printers are
also parallel capable
But they still want to be able to accomodate someone, (must be powerful
there) who does have a PC on the desk but likes to also have the wyse60
there when she wants see pick data.

Seeing this thread makes me think fondly of the days when we used green
screens (WYSE/ADDS etc).. We then only had to worry about supporting
our application. If a screen went wrong you either rebooted it, ran a
little script to reset it back up, or replaced it when it broke.

Now, I would guess a good proportion of the helpdesk calls we have
relate to PC configuration issues, or network ones...

Whilst I accept this as progress, I can't help thinking about the good
old days!

Ans yes - my tongue is firmly in cheek. The days of the green screen
app are long gone - except in a few exceptional circumstances. (Do I
need my fireproof suit on for the next few days now I've said that?
