Are you running D3 Linux 7.4.2 on a RedHat 9 box? If so, your problem is discussed here: http://forums.rainingdata.com/index.php?showtopic=713 To quote Robert Burke in his reply therein: Quote What that means is that you are running the wrong version of D3. The supported versions are: D3/Linux 7.4.0 on Red Hat 9 D3/Linux 7.4.2 on Red Hat Enterprise By running D3 7.4.2 on Red Hat 9, you are using the wrong memory map. The error 22 is the least of your problems. If you need to stay on Red Hat 9, you will need to install the supported 7.4.0 release. /Quote HTH With Kindest Regards Mike Wooding Hi Mike |

i'm running D3 Linux 7.4.2 on RH Enterprise, but not with the original RedHat-Kernel. i have built my own kernel, because the RH 2.4.21-ES Kernel may have some IO-Scheduler problems (the thing is realy slow). with a Vanilla 2.4.31 Kernel, the systems responses much faster. |

Oliver I'm no expert on D3 internals (nor RedHat for that matter). But, it seems likely (and this is only my "best guess" assumption here) that D3 doesn't like something in your recompiled kernel. Sorry, but I've have no idea what it doesn't like. For that, you'd need to speak to Raining Data tech support. However, I'd expect their response to be that you are running D3 on an unsupported RedHat version. (In the past I've had similar responses from them when running patched versions of RedHat, so unless they've changed their stance, expect the worse!) :-( Having said that, they *should* be able to tell you what the error message means and whether or not you're "safe" to continue using D3 without some buffer or other having been attached. At that stage you're in a position to decide whether you should run with the buffer error and suffer the consequences, or whether you should run with the vanilla kernel and suffer the consequences. Apologies if I'm stating the obvious, but your previous post has been 24 hours without a reply so I thought I'd offer you the little I have. Hope this helps in some way.
