* I have been following, with much concern, on Twitter and Ginger's
blog. I won't try to imagine what the family and staff at The Nerdery
are going through. I just pray that Luke, Nate, Nick and Noah didn't
suffer. The XOS Sigma 5 overlay photo from the last SB booth at
Spectrum I attended is still hanging in my cubicle. It's now a
reminder of this tragic event and outcome.

Yes, I, too, am sad for both Ginger and Luke's first wife who I think
is the mother of the boys (I do not know her name, and I have not
found Ginger's blog, finding it painful). I, too, hope they do not
suffer.

Luke and the folks at Sierra Bravo have been very good to me and my
partners. They host the servers for my emerging software application
and have helped me in a number of ways. I am very sad for their loss.

Such a warm friendly man. Was alway very helpful and remembered me by
name.

And in the Pick world he was doing things no one else was doing.

Even today, when I Googled for some Pick BASIC syntax, up comes the
great Sierra Bravo online Pick documentation.

This is such a waste and a tragedy.

I don't respond well to losses of friends or colleagues.

I've always had a great deal of respect for Luke as someone who was
successful in creating the kind of business that I have aspired to
create myself. He did it right, professionally, and he had a lot of
people who cared for him personally. We had exchanges on this topic
and I'm happy that I was able to express to him directly how I felt.
I will miss him a lot.

It's important to tell people how we feel. When we can't there is an
emptiness that can never be filled.
