Have any of you used any of these tools in a Pick/MV environment?

Yes, Subversion and Tortoise SVN, in a uniData environment.

Only shortcoming was inability of the version control s/w
to recognize native F type files; for these (not many) we
copy the F type file records to/from a DIR type file for
transfer in/out of the repository and comparison.

Tortoise SVN can be used in Windows or from Linux command
line. We run Subversion on Linux servers; not sure if it
runs on Win servers.

I use Beyone Compare (BC) integrated with Perforce and as a stand-
alone product.

BC is outstanding, and makes replicating code changes across
mutltiple programs a breeze.

The problem described below can be fixed. All it needs is a company
that really doesn't want to deal with the problem.
