VIA have been part of EDP for at least 10 years. What has changed is
that Robin White (?) retired after many years at the helm and Robert
Catalano (?) left for Revelation (I think).
I expect that VIA is now a shell in the USA run directly by EDP from UK.

Hello Truthcrusadar.

<snip>
EDP (of which VIA are part) have a standard 'contract' of 5 years
maintenance agreements on products.

i.e. you buy the product and you commit to 5 years maintenance
payments......

It's the 1970's all over again....
</snip>

The TRUTH is that there is no compulsory maintenance contract on
UniVision. UniVision can be purchased for £299 + VAT per seat in the UK
with optional Software Assurance purchased for only £59 + VAT per seat
per annum. Thus UniVision is not only very capable but is very
competitive too. Details may be found here:

http://www.edp.co.uk/solutions/sol_u...valuation.html

The UniVision Software Assurance programme covers technical support as
well as software upgrades. Nothing out of the ordinary here as far as
software licensing goes?

May I ask where your incorrect information came from?

fixtures and fittings these days!
