I need to delete some sub-values from an attribute and thought the update processor would be the easiest way, however I can't figure out how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Chris |

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Chris Chris: I believe you can simply "U" the item ("U filename itemname"), CTRL-N to the attribute number, CTRL-K over to the desired location of the SVM, and/or data between SVM's, to delete, then CTRL-L for each character you want to delete. * Then, CTRL-X and "file" the item. If you are on ACCUTERM, and have the "WED" editor available to you, that is even simpler. * WED file itemname, at which time you have the full-screen editor available. * Navigate to the attribute(s) and use the typical editing functions that you would use in other WORD-type screens (highlight the SVM's to delete, and/or data in between, then DELETE. * *CTRL-S to file the item away. Hope this helps. * Good luck. Jim Cronin |

I'm relatively new to PICK and when I needed to delete characters when editing I'd position the cursor ahead and CTRL-R, then back space. Doesn't quite work with SVs. Thanks again. Chris |

Most likely you have the spell checker of the update processor turned on and your WORDS file in the DM account is empty. Now if I remember right there is a switch that can be included on the TCL command line that will either turn off or on the spell checker. Once you are in the update processor I think you press <ctrl> S three times to disable the spell checker. *Check the manuals!!!! * And if you have the keyboard template card, the keystrokes are described on there.
