Default universe tuning on NT - 03-30-2006 , 01:27 PM

Hello,
Is there a technical booklet on tunning Universe on NT or 2000? if not,
what things should I be doing to make Universe run smoothly. We are
experiencing some hang times and slow processes. Any help will be
appreciated.

Peter

The #1 reason any Pick like system runs slow is File not sized
correctly. Try running a Hash-Help on each file used in any of the
processes that take a very long time and with no one online, resize
them. That will make a Very Big Difference.

#2. Add Memory to your server. All Window OSs are Memory Pigs.

Yes, windows is a big memory hog. I recall settting up D3NT back in
1998. Thank you for responding to my request.

I tried using the U2 tech website, but you have to have a support
contract with IBM. That sucks!

Check out the website http://www.u2ug.org

They are a wonderful source of Universe and Unidata info.
