Default unidata personnal edition - Error msgno = 100032 - 05-22-2007 , 02:13 AM

Hi,

I've just installed unidata 7.1 personnal edition, but when i try to
log in, i get the error

Error msgno = 100032

Connection to host lost.

Any ideas on how to fix so i can log in.

I can log in using uniadmin, if that helps.

Thanks

Russ

The questions, of course, is which O/S?

Remember, if you're using Windows you need to login using the Windows user &
password, you have to have permissions, etc, etc, etc.

I'm almost always able to log in using a plain DOS window. You might want
to check out your port# for telnet.

I'm using xp pro. I've set up all the correct permissions, a new user
who's part of administrators.
If i use cmd, then do a telnet localhost i get the login banner. I can
enter my username and password but i get the original message and it
disconnects straight away.

I think i read somewhere it had something to wrong ,Locale, does not
belong to current language group? Ring any bells?

I assume as i get the login banner, my telnet port is ok?

Thanks

Russ

Just to let you all know, to fix this error, i changed the environment
variable LANG to C.

Right click on my computer, properties. Click advanced, then
environment variables.

Great when you know how!!!!

Russ:

I don't have that environment variable assigned on my XP Pro machine (I just
reinstalled XP). I installed UV and have no problems logging in. I wonder
why you have that environment variable set?

Who knows? I got the advice from IBM u2 website;

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview...cs=utf-8&lang=

We run ud71 (fully licensed though) at work, and I've never had this
problem.

Maybe it's a ud prob and not uv?
