While I'm sure there are good people somewhere in this organization,
overall this company and their sister company Atlas Books is the best
example of the worst kind of people I've ever encountered. Here's how
they treated us, a client/victim: http://www.atlasbooks.org/

Bloody hell, Kevin! That's a hair-raising precautionary-warning tale
if ever I read one.

Kevin, that sounds horrible. The website was a great idea.
Perhaps you could do some 'programming' for them.

btw, what is your wife's book about?

Thanks Jeff. At the risk of taking this too far OT, my wife is a wine
writer. She and my son co-wrote "Hidden Treasures of Oregon's Wine
Country". It's a coffee table book - more pictures than text - but it
was a significant accomplishment for the both of them and I have been
very proud. (It's on Amazon, incidentally.) With Atlas Books,
however, I've also been very frustrated and very broke.

My goal with the site is exactly as it reads; hopefully we can alert
others to our experiences so they can avoid a similar disaster. And
while I have no idea how they treat their employees, hopefully my post
today will help my friends and esteemed colleagues who monitor this
list to be extra cautious when choosing their next opportunity.

That sounds like a very nice coffee table book for the oenophile.
Putting it on my list for my cousin and brothers as birthdays come up.
Please post the Amazon link.

Here you go:
http://www.amazon.com/Hidden-Treasur...1405760&sr=1-1

If the link gets scrambled, just search for "Hidden Treasures of
Oregons Wine Country" @ Amazon and it'll come right up.

(Look for the "7 new" or whatever on the bottom of the page and click
there to get a better price.)

My apologies to everyone else for taking this so far OT. I didn't
intend for this to become a marketing thing for her book, but I do
appreciate the support!

Am I missing something? My browsers are telling me atlasbooks.org
doesn't exist.

Oh, nvm, it's atlasbooks.com and there's no story there, just books.
Looks perfectly normal to me.

No, it's .org for Kevin King's story. The original link is correct and
working for me.
