Well - I thought they were. Maybe they are... but it's one hell of a
slow dance. Meanwhile... I just posted another query to u2users (google
group). Kind of embarrassing the way it's turning out. Sore thumbs and
dogs... well... you know. Anyway... I live in hope that people will
eventually see that a google group where people can choose whether they
want posts to be emailed to them or not - and what kind of emails - and
easily find what they're looking for from previous posts, is better
than the current email list. All it needs is participation. Kevin
Costner did it didn't he?

Mike.

So, this is the "I want what I want, when I want, and where I want!"
syndrome.
I remember Dad taking the p**s out of me once. Imitated me praying:
"God grant me patience. And I want it now!".

Mike.

I pitched the use of google groups to the U2UG board after you started
this, but, alas, change is slow. Hopefully someday u2-users can head
there, and I'm gonna nominate you for the board once nominations are
open in December. Then maybe you can help us get the move to happen.
The problem is that we had to move it (Clif decided he had to drop it)
last year, before google groups was up and going, so getting another
move this soon doesn't energize too many people right now, but it isn't
hopeless.

Yahoo groups has. I think Google groups is relatively new -- we had
12+ of us discussing was to do when Clif needed to drop support. We
mentioned on u2-users that we had to move and no one suggested google
groups to my recollection.

At the time, several of us were moderating yahoo groups and it was just
awful, with people being inactivated all the time, for example.

The way it looked to me was that only after google groups came along
that yahoo groups got better, but I could be wrong.
