Thanks for the note Dave. I don't even remember what the specific
issues are anymore. I haven't looked at this for a while. I've
posted my results so far to the RD site. There's been no recent
response - hey, it's a public forum, not official support, right? I
might take it up as a Support question and request an update to the
doc in the process.
I don't care what works or what doesn't I just want to know what works
and what doesn't. I generally don't use triggers but just as a side
project I've been toying with the best way to write a hot-backup for
D3NT using triggers. There are many issues that prevent a proper
solution from being created - which is why RD doesn't have a solution
for this either. There are ways around most of the problems but I
wanted to get a firm grasp on the difference between real problems and
PEBKAC before I started to write workarounds.
About registering for the forum, send a note to marketing@ RD. They
can't fix the problem but they will probably take it to Support who
will. You could also call Support.
Regards,

Anyway to your question about triggers on DICT items .. it appears to
work here. We are just going through a series of re-think about use of
triggers and several additional uses we can make of them and in my
testing yesterday i found that if i put a write trigger (callx) on MD
FILENAME <8> it did indeed seem to call the trigger.
If you are not getting the same let me know and I will retest to be
sure that it wasnt 'terminal eyes' just hoping it worked.
