it wasn't a pc it was a tape --- tape streamer I remember had made it on
the only zebra system I ever saw in my life some obscure shop

was told to make an installation program for it all -- by that time it
was completely unnecessary I knew -- shit happens -- the number of
installations going on at the time something would happen -- that was the
first time I think that the system was a new tape streamer so it went off
the pc streamer tape

the rest was all big tapes IBM tape deck draw it out -- the M4000 would
tip when you drew it out

its all completely unnecessary -- they expected you to be an expert they
will say "you know pick" fix this -- like qdata chester

rolled down there met an adds mentor system that had just died

guy said "fix it" i said well hell its not gonna load loaded tape etc
told him about tapes advised him said "it's dead" its not going to go
anymore

hes saying "fix it" im saying well I can't its f*cked big old mentor
system even older than 1986 first time I saw one

he said well im like hell im making phone calls for him saying you have a
tape get it onto something different

he says well hey if this is f*cked? hes thinking -- south african he was

later this is 2001 I get a phone call he says will you do me a favor? I
say yes of course "sir"

he says write up a report say the system was damaged ...

I write up a report my business heading say "waterlogged" ie. damp
so .....

at that time i'm talking to the agency that let me onto him - progressive
I invoice the bastard no reply -- I talk to progressive "roman" it was I
say well anyway etc etc gimme expenses for the trip (I lost 1/2 a days
pay to do that) he says "no" i go ballistic you fucking idiot I say am
shouting etc lost it

some time later my father says there was an insurance guy round here
(business address was my home address) hes asking questions about "qdata"
-- by then I had lost all documentation moving on no time for some reason
I couldn't follow it up -- but the bastard had got me to defraud for them
