This concept was pioneered in Holland in the fifties. Since the Dutch
government had a monopoly on radio bradcasts, before TV, an
entrepreneur started broadcasting from the cutter Veronica, anchored
just outside the 3-mile territorial waters.

Same here in the uk.. there were several "pirate" radio stations in the 60's
that transmitted from boats just into international waters..

And SPUR (Society for the Prevention of Unauthorized Radiowaves) did nothing
about this exploitation? What a tragedy!

<response format="comedy" type="standup" drumtype="ba dum crash!">
Speaking of pirates, how'd you guys like someone to call you some day
and say "pay us 1 million euros or we'll sink your development
company" ? <drum/>

Helluva country we live in when people feel a need to leave the
country just to get work in the country. Where's the logic in that?
I dunno if I'd want someone employing that sort of logic to be working
on my code. <drum/>

Hey, on the bright side, maybe I will hire them for a small project,
then fire them. When my next contractor comes along I'll tell him my
last one is sleeping with the fish (gangster phrase), so my projects
better be done right, or else! Hey, at least my integrity is in
check. <drum/>

Boy, considering they're dealing with programming it's a good thing
they call it outsourcing! <drum> Oh wait, if they don't provide the
source is that "outobjecting"? <drum> No no, that's only if your
lawyer is overseas. <drum>

Overseas? Personally I think Shakespeare was right, kill all the
lawyers, then we wouldn't have to deal with stupid political and
economic situations that force our citizens to hop into a boat to
write programs - or gamble on riverboat casinos, for those of you who
are familiar with that farce. <drum mode=silent>

a) The lawyers or the politicians that write the laws that
force people to hop a boat?

b) Answer: 500 lawyers at the bottom of the sea? Question:
Not as good a start as 50 annuity salesmen.

Boat load of lawyers sinking? A good start.

Boat full of lawyers sinking with 1 empty birth? A crying shame.

If Paris Hilton ever had offspring, THAT would be an empty birth, suitable
to fill that empty berth.
