Default Removing List Abusers - 10-20-2005 , 06:52 PM

Several different ways to remove list abusers.

1) Email directly to the controller of the domain, in this case it
would be either or both - abuse (AT) yahoo (DOT) co.uk or postmaster (AT) yahoo (DOT) co.uk

2) Do a "whois" on domain name yahoo.co.uk for futher information.

3) Do a "whois" on yahoo.com (parent company) to get further info if
necessary.

4) This website has several good tips: http://www.abuse.net/index.phtml

5) Simply do a google search for "reporting internet abuse". There's a
plethora of hits.

6) You can also report abuse to your own domain controller and they
will forward it on, along with the necessary action.

Be sure to include examples of the abuse. Examples of colorful
language, antagonistic behavior to other members, etc. There seems to
be no short supply of these. The constant repostings are considered
abuse, as they can be labeled as unwanted SPAM (which they are).

If everyone reports this abuse, then it should be taken care of
relatively swiftly. Don't be the victim, take matters into your own
hands. I will be doing my part, hopefully so does everyone else.

We all make our own destiny.

Lastly, when reporting, do not forget to include the email address of
the offender. In this case "tronic5572 (AT) yahoo (DOT) co.uk". Also be sure to
include a short sentence or two as to why this person should be removed
(though their postings are telling enough).

Hope this helps everyone out.

Look I'm leaving yahoo anyway because of this:

I just haven't got round to it yet. Do you want me to move from yahoo
now?

You can't actually get me cut off from my ISP you know that don't you?

The above may or may not work for lists, but IMO the best way to
eliminate trolls from a newsgroup is to completely ignore them. Each
reply only encourages them. 2 cents.

Joe

If you use Outlook Express, you can add him to the Blocked Senders list
which will remove all his previous postings and any future ones. If he
changes email address, simply repeat the process, which is: highlight one of
his original messages, then use the Message/Block Sender... option. He will
be added into the Tools/Message Rules/Blocked Senders List which can be
modified if required.
