While you are no doubt referring to market share, the desktop on linux
is a reality I've been using for years. My poison these days is Ubuntu.

Been using Konqueror and KDE at work for more years than I can
remember. If there are millions of Linux users than there are
millions of users of either KDE or GNOME and a tiny percentage of
other windowing systems that are used mostly on older machines that do
not have the RAM to support KDE and/or GNOME.
