Mike, does your client have both U2 and D3? If not then are they
assuming the skillset will transfer from one to the other? Is there
an assumption that anyone who knows Universe will hit the ground
running with Unidata? I don't think these are valid assumptions.
Anyone you get who isn't more specialized with the platform on-site
will probably not do as well as someone who is. It would be to your
client's advantage to seek someone truly skilled with the target
platform, or at least specify which platforms are most important. If
they have more than one platform or there is a migration in progress
then that should be stated up front too, so that candidates can make
some decisions about whether they would consider a change in career
focus.
