Default Printing from Universe. - 10-07-2003 , 05:35 AM

I am having trouble printing formatted text from an application in Universe
to Epson Stylus C82. All formatting of the reports is done within
application using escape sequences e.g. CHAR(27):CHAR(15) to start
condensed print. The printer prints but formatting doesn't happen. I've
tried using Generic/Text driver as well as specific printer's driver. The
printer control commands I'm using are from Epson Programming Guide.
The printer is connected to a parrallel port on a Windows NT 4.0 workstation
and is shared. The Universe server is also a Windows NT 4.0 workstation.
Tha network is peer-to-peer.
Would anyone have a suggestion on what to try next.
Thanks.
Alex.

In that specific example, if memory serves, you use CHAR(15) alone to start
condensed print, and CHAR(14) only to return to normal. Prefacing it
with an escape character is going to confuse matters. It's one of the
few print attributes that DOESN'T start with an escape.
