Default Printer Question - 07-13-2010 , 05:30 PM

Is there a command that prints out what the last sp-assign was? I
would like to know what printer port is currently assigned to a
terminal before using (p option.

Thanks

sp-assign ? shows the formqueue of the current port.

wheres shows each logged-in port's formqueue
in the 'form #' column.

listabs shows formqueue in the 'form#' column,
for each port -- 0 if port logged off.

sp-assign ? * * shows the *formqueue of the current port.

wheres * * * * * shows each logged-in port's formqueue

listabs * * * * * * shows formqueue *in the 'form#' column,

I should have seen sp-assign ? in the docs. Thanks for that
reference.

I assume that formqueue from sp-assign ? is going to be the device (p
prints to by default, and that using something like sp-assign f50
would change to formqueue 50 device. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Does using sp-assign have an effect on just the user/terminal that ran
the command or does it affect other users on the account.

The SP-ASSIGN command affect only the line on whitch it is done.
If the user have open 2 cessions on the same account it will only
affect the cession where you have done the command.

WHERES provided me with a lot of detailed information. WHERES shows
that I'm logged on port 30 which is right, and a form# 14 which should
be for the printer on serial port 45. I assume that this was assigned
by SP-ASSIGN, and does this mean that p.option will print to this
formqueue when issued from this terminal?

Thanks for all your help.
