Hey David.

It's been about 24 years, but I believe the next step is <interrupt>. When
the system would hang, we first did an <interrupt>, <reset>, <interrupt>
(commonly referred to as I R I). If that did not clear it, the second resort
was the focus of your trivia question.

Jeff

Here's an easy one. Identify the hardware that used this button press
sequence to reset the machine.

Step
Clear
Load
Ready
Execute

Hi Dave
Now you are stretching the toggle memories. I shall never forget their use
though I have definitely forgotten the sequence. I well remember my first
day on a training course with Basil at AWA Melbourne - Winter, extra heaters
scattered around Norwich house, bang the fuse blew, I got up and was putting
on my coat to go home - NCR's that I was used to took a day or two to come
up - an engineer bounced in laughing, toggled a couple of switches and up we
came. Not a character lost from the edit I was doing, it may have only been
Reality 2.4d but I was in love.

The Database Scientifics museum project has two of the circa 1975 core
based Micodata's . One of these days, when w get them up and running,
I will confirm that Dave's challange is still applcabale.

a PDP-11? LOL

OK, Pick Trivia #2,

True or False:

There used to be a trick for joining two lines in the editor on old Microdata systems. It involved going to a line and pressing <break> and then at !
typing cr4;1

(Film at 11)
