However, I would appreciate if you leave me some comments at this page.

Before people go installing and executing code on their systems, does
anyone know who this person is? This could very easily be a keylogger
or other malware.

I had the same thought. I went to the site, but my gut told me not to
download the product.

Really? I would think someone with criminal intent would target a
larger community than found in CDP.

I disagree, some of *us* are just not overly ambitious and don't like
crowds. But are obviously very patient.

Just sent me your $10.00 (US) now and I'll let you know when your
$100.00 is available. You need to be patient too.

Patrick, <;=)

P.S. Luke if this works you'll get your $100.00 shortly just be
patient.

It is the clean program for MV. Not complex, but noteworthy and
respect.
All new causes irritation of conservatives.
Though it is strange, that it was necessary to pay money for such
product .

Henry Eggers has been working on an 'mv access-like' query processor written
in Java which is not only MV aware, but also capable of connecting to
multiple SQL databases as well. I'm not exactly sure how to get in touch
with him down in Laguna Beach CA these days, but last time I saw him he was
interested in getting testers.

The lure of free MV software for Pick people is not unlike Joe Camel
getting kids to like cigarettes. Why would someone use a cute cartoon
to sell such a bad thing to kids - and who would want to hurt a small
group of innocent Pick developers? Hey, maybe someone sees all of
these arguments abour Linux and Microsoft and they're out to show the
Microsoft people just how vulnerable their systems are.

OK, that is all a stretch but I'd still maintain that we don't know
this person and caution is advised. I'd like to see confirmation from
someone we know in this forum that the software is legit, otherwise I
strongly recommend against installation. And for anyone who goes and
installs it and then comes back here to tell us they survived, that is
NOT verification that the software is OK. Malware (aka trojans) can
lay dormant for months or years before releasing their payload on one
system or many.

Sorry for doubting your generous offer if it is legit, Pete. I'm sure
you can understand the caution that's required.

I'm downloading it right now. I'm not worried. I have enough registry
monitors, and numerous other utilities running on my XP box, that I can
detect and destroy anything that starts acting fishy.

It looks like a good, fun product. It might be better if this
discussion centered on the .net program and the D3 odbc library needed
to run the program. I'm not sure how or where to install these.

from the readme....

Please check carefully that you have the required software installed to
run Pick Query.

- Windows XP/2000
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframewo.../framework1_1/
- D3 ODBC Library
ftp://ftp.rainingdata.com/pub/ODBC/2...leases/C27.exe
