There are slips off the pier, designated with letters, one for each slip, in
alphabetical order.

You can cleary see three of the slips and their lettering in this picture: G
F E.
Oh, man, now I see the G.F.E. for some reason I only read the G the
first time. Yes, would love it! I have two other efforts in swing too,
and it would be great for at least one of them. --dawn

Thanks for the offer, Rick. Unfortunately I will not be there. I'm on
the homestretch of the 2 years of teaching I signed on for, then I'll
be more focussed on SnupNow and my MV efforts after this semester, so
maybe I'll make it to Spectrum next year. cheers! --dawn

I have a Pick Hits from 1990. I wouldn't part with it, but if you're
looking for something in particular, I could do the research...

Thanks, Bruce. I mentioned in response to someone else that in order
for it to be useful to me for this particular purpose, I was thinking
I would like to show the document to a writer, as part of the "clues I
can give without him having to do research." I think Will had some
info on his knol, and I'll have to read that more carefully, but
information such as 10 big name customers that the average person
would recognize (Coca Cola, for example) would be really helpful if
that is something not too hard to glean from it. Thanks in advance to
you or anyone else who can "net it out" in ways that might be easily
consumed. cheers! --dawn

If you read my article on Pick Hits, you'll see Dawn that it doesn't
include customers at all. Just solution providers, vendors, hardware,
user groups, etc. No end users.

Thanks Will, that's helpful. I just went and read your page on this. I
think I saw it earlier, but for some reason had not read it all the
way through. For example, I did not realize you considered yourself an
historian. Are you a "Pick historian"? It sounds like you might be a
good resource or otherwise have suggestions for me in my little
ventures. I consider myself a futurist, so my dabbling in history is a
mystery to me.

One thing that would be helpful re Pick Hits is knowing some of the
names of software applications that might ring any bells with the
average person or software apps where their end-customers might be
know. For example, the average person does not know Datatel, but they
do know Harvard, Yale and UC Berkeley, all of whom used a Datatel
product at one point or another. Similarly, Avon is an example of an
end-customer of Jenkon. These are both UniData examples, likely
because I come from the PI/UD arena. I do not have similar knowledge
re D3/PICK. TIA for any info like this for any of the other MV
products, such as D3. --dawn

This person has the photo in a box somewhere, and has promised to try and
dig it up. I'll keep after it until it shows up.

I do have articles on Companies That Use Pick

http://knol.google.com/k/will-johnso...mquk6fx4gu/549

and also
Companies That USED Pick

http://knol.google.com/k/fft2001/com...basj7lzroyk/25

Just a scratch at the problem, inspired in part by someone *here*
saying something.

Anyone is welcome to add names.

I could scan to pdf my copy? I have a 20 (or is it 40) ppm document scanner
with ocr to pdf. (so, the results would be searchable also).

Only two issues with above:

a) whatever the term is for beyond busy, that my issue right now

b) I might have JUST thrown it out in the last two months. Some of my pick
pile been thrown out, and I do not see the pick hits in what I have left.

I recall that the pick hits was coil bound, so this would be a real easy
scan job. I will look a bit tomorrow. If I find it, then I come back here as
ask if you want a pdf copy.

Make that three issues... Copyright?

I'm probably with a majority of people who feel that there should not
be a problem redistributing a 20 year old, out-of-print marketing
publication. But if there is a copyright in the material, does anyone
know what copyright laws would say about this?

I'm just asking the question, not stating a position...

Convenience and desire should not be factors that drive us to ignore
laws or rights. For that we have republican state governors. LOL
