Default OT: problem with Sonicwall - 08-04-2005 , 07:04 PM

I'm only bithering y'all with this because you're suc a helpfull group
and besides, the whole thing started so I can access my D3/Linux box via
ethernet and extend mail and internet to some of my Pick using employees.

I'm trying to set up a tz170w firewall / router. Everything is fine on
the wired side and fine on the wireless side. Except I can't
communicate from one side to the other. I can ping the wired gateway
from a wireless client, but that seems to be about it.
I'm using WEP 128 bit and have added firewall rules:
WLAN any address to LAN any address ANY service
LAN any address to WLAN any address ANY service

Also, Accuterm will let me ssh from the wired side, but not from the
wireless. Internet access is fine from the wireless side.

Is anybody out there familiar with the Sonicwall Products?

Thanks,

Bruce

Man, I home these are easier to manage than the Cisco 501 and Netscreen 5GT
products! The Cisco needs serious Cisco technical knowhow because their
support is useless while the Netscreen needs lots of Netscreen support,
which isn't cheap! Getting support, even after paying for it, is a
mind-numbing experience.

Turns out it was all my fault. I never configured the sonicwall as the
default gateway on my D3/linux box. But sonicwall was very nice about
it. It did take about 5 calls and a few hours on the phine to figure it
out though.
