Default New openQM 2.2-0-Unofficial Tarball - 09-23-2005 , 05:23 PM

Hello Folks,

Enough changes have been effected in both openQM and in our php4 module
to warrant building a new tarball. These changes include:

Many enhancements to the 'DELIMITER' keyword generously supplied by
Martin.

A new keyword 'COL.HDG.ID' which will display the item id of the DICT
item used to generate the column. This is useful in conjunction with
the DELIMITED option in naming columns for non-display manipulation.

We have removed all of the known 'rough edges' from the php4 module by
providing a wrapper to perform error trapping.

This wrapper also adds functionality in the form of a query processor
that makes running and manipulating database queries much simpler and
more intiutive than the bare interface had been.

For those of you who have been testing the php module ... the new
wrapper depends upon the changes in QPROC mentioned above so you will
want to either upgrade your qmsys account or copy the BP/QPROC
contained in the tarball into @QMSYS/BP, compile and create the VOC
entries for COL.HDG.ID

The example scripts (the tutorial Library scripts) have been re-written
to use the new wrapper and show how it is used. A new script has been
included which does nothing really but shows how some of the functions
are called.

I have also changed the location due to some internal shuffling of IP
addresses and servers. The new URL is:
http://openqm.blackflute.com/

Many thanks to Martin for his assistance, patience and generosity ...
hip, hip ... Thanks, Mon.
-Tom

As posted on the OpenQM developers list, we expect to do a full open
source update in the next week or two. Tom's tarball makes a useful
interim release but there is more coming soon.
