***THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT*** I just came across a recent article by Jon Sisk where he refers to Pick/MV as the 'Nelson' database (he doesn't quote the name like I did.) Is this a way to add a fresh face to our world? Dunno, but fruit for thought... link to page of which I speak is below (on BinaryStar/Nucleus Wiki, didn't know Nucleus supported wiki's)... live 'n learn... Link: http://binarystar.pbwiki.com/Creatin...%20Application makes me think it's not too late after all... BFaux- |

I don't think calling it a Nelson database will make any difference, although something is needed. I would suggest that aligning with other non-relational products, such as Cache', Berkeley DB, etc and coming up with a bigger umbrella might make some sense. Post-relational never worked. Something that indicates beyond SQL or aligning with XML might be helpful. --dawn |

I did know to whom the reference referred as the association between Dick and Don at TRW is well known - it's the new 'global' reference that got my attention. I agree completely with you here Dawn, just look at what AJAX did for JavaScript in less than a year! How about MIX (MV - Integrated with XML)? |
