Default need help with MV licensing issue. - 02-27-2007 , 03:34 PM

I need help in locating companies, sites or users of multivalue
systems that had temporary licenses or printer licenses issued by
Raining Data which was converted to permanent licenses. I need
information on how the situation was resolved. Thank you very much for
your help.

Activation codes are obtained by calling Raining Data Support.
Multi-user temporary licenses are issued via the web interface and for
trial licenses. A system without a permanent license is by default
running with a single user temp license when it's installed.

Can you be more specific about exactly what it is that you're trying
to resolve? Is this a technical issue? A business/legal issue? Does
your system have a temp license and you're trying to figure out how to
make the system work without buying a license? Sorry, the inquiry
isn't too clear.

Printer license?

Thank you for your response. We are trying to resolve a business/legal
issue.

Our situation:

We recently bought and upgraded from RS6000s with MVE 4.0 to pSeries
servers with MVE 4.2
When Raining Data installed the new version of MVE on the new servers
they only installed 128 licenses + 48 printer licenses. They are
claiming that we only have 128 user licenses plus 200 temporary/
printer licenses installed on our old RS6000s. We have documented
proof that they have issued authorization codes for 328 users on our
old RS6000s. We need to find out who has been in this situation before
and how it was resolved. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your response. We are trying to resolve a business/legal

I understand now. The notion of Printer Licenses doesn't exist in D3
so that had me confused. You're talking about mvEnterprise.

I can't help with the issue at hand. It seems to me however, that
your previous invoices should be enough confirmation for what licenses
you had. If you were not paying support fees on an extra 200 licenses
I think RD would have noticed this way before now.

If you'd like to integrate your mvEnterprise environment with Web
Services, a web GUI, MS Outlook, or other external software and
services, now _those_ are areas where I can help.

Good luck on this.
