Default mvBase user licences - 05-24-2007 , 09:27 AM

Mvterm allows you multiple connections to the server whilst only using
one licence which is very kind of RD!

We now use Accuterm for our GUI application but still have the need to
temporarily run mvterm simultaneously. This situation causes two
licences to be used. Does anyone know if it is possible to configure
the Workstation to use just the one licence?

Thanks in anticipation to anyone who can help!

Maybe it depends on your overall configuration.

On my single user mvBASE installation - all on a notebook - I can have
multiple mvTerm and AccuTerm connections simultaneously and still only
use one licence.

But maybe it is different if you are connecting to a network server.

Cheers,

Brian

I am not exactly sure of your configuration but if you setup
mvWorkstation (application or service) on each workstation then you
make connections to the local mvWorkstation rather than a remote
mvWorkstation and you only consume one license not matter how many
connections you make. I am not sure how that affects mvTerm since it
doesn't require mvWorkstation. We use other telnet programs to
connect to mvBase. I would be happy to take this discussion further
off-line if you are interested.

I believe it is actually the workstation telnet server that allows
multiple connections, not mvTerm.
