The question is how much is the client willing to spend on the solution. You can get an inexpensive mulit-port card with an octopus cable. Or, you can get a network based solution like the Digi Port Server II. One is around $350, the other is around $1000. They both will probably require driver installation and setup on RH9.. Moxa makes an 8-port PCI card "CP-118U" that sells for around $350. Digi has a "Neo" 8-port PCI card for around $300. Glen "Ricky" <rginsburg (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> wrote in message news:e9obih$h7p$1 (AT) nntp (DOT) aioe.org... I've got a customer running RedHat 9 and D3Linux 7.4.0. What's a good multiport card for their new server? They've got five serial printers for multi-part forms that can't be changed to anything else. The 32 port digiboard in the existing server is down to it's last 5 working ports and needs to be replaced. Thanks. |

Hang the printers off winbox serial ports; use smbprint at the linux server to reach 'em |
