Default Looking for simple Check-Out Check-In - 09-12-2005 , 09:46 AM

my client as asked for a simple check-in check-out. The one I have is
specific to an environment and can't be used without a lot of work
(which they prefer we don't spend time on.

If anyone has a simple In/Out process that will run under Unidata I
would greatly appreciate it

DSig

it will take some work to impliment, depending on how much integration
you want to do.
try GNU's rcs. I've used it and it seems to do the job.

Actually, it would take very little to integrate it with UD because I
already did so with UV. I don't think it would take much to get my s/w
running under Unidata.
My frontend:
- UV menu
- TCL commands for CHECKIN, CHECKOUT, etc.
- honours and builds select lists
- controls hashed records & dictionaries as well as programs.
- allows MV programmers to stay completely within their environment
w/o learning RCS proper, or
- allows work at OS level if programmer so chooses.
- allows RCS's tight security.
- makes search, track, and compare tools available to UV programmers,
thus making source control a tool, rather than a burden.

I haven't marketed this, but I think it is a very nice simple solution.

Todd, I think I'd practically give it to you in exchange for whatever
little conversion effort it takes to get it up on UD.

Same if someone wanted to port it to D3.

Contact me on- or off-list if anyone is interested.

If you're willing to give it away then please consider

Thanks for the plug. :P I think that things are stable here now.
Yesterday was up and down with the power. Luckily, I didn't have to
crank up the generator. That thing is SOO freakin loud. I think it may
be time to buy a bigger UPS for the boxen. Either that or relocate
MVDC.
