We are having a problem with a couple of screens not refreshing (D3/Linux 7.2 and Viaduct terminal emulation), and the problem appears to be in the inetd.conf file in linux. In the past (D3/Linux 7.1) if we modified inetd.conf, we then found the process ID by typing ps -aux to find the inetd process and then typing kill -HUP ID. However sometime ago the process quit showing up when we typed ps -aux (I think it may have happened when we upgraded to 7.2. As is probably obvious, I don't have a good understanding of Linux. If anyone can solve my problem or point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful. Thanks. Bob Marik |

To find the answer to your problem, we need to know the following: 1) What changes were made to the inetd.conf file? 2) What terminal emulation are you using? 3) What error messages have you seen in the errors file with regard to the inetd daemon? 4) Are there error messages when booting the system with regard to the inetd daemon? 5) Be more specific about "Screens not refreshing..." 6) Are there any other problems with the system (may be related even though you might not think so.)
