Does anyone else read him?

He mentions PICK in one of his latest rants about rescuing old code.

Interesting. I've posted to the forum on the article indicating that
OpenQM is a multi-value, Pick-like database that is available as an
open source version. http://openqm.org

Knowing about this stuff is supposed to be his job, but he still
confuses public domain and open source. That's just plain lazy.
Agreed. On the other hand, it _is_ called "PC Magazine".

web site in his upcoming column "Inside Track".

Yes, except that he is specifically talking about Pick as an O/S, not
just a database.
