Hard to compete when others such as MS SQL and Oracle are offering free versions too. |

Not an ISP, but definitely a resource. They are heavily involved in QM. That said they can do all major MV DB's |

We'll see how aggressive IBM is. If DB2 doesn't show up in Debian, Mandrake or RH as a bundled package in 12 months, then it may not take off like they want it to. It's too easy to use another DB that's already bundled with Linux. If they can jump through the hoops to get on the Debian maintainer list and also convince RH packagers to bundle DB2, then they may have a very successful launch. I just wish that Ladybridge understood the importance of that as well, for OpenQM. Of course, it also helps to have OSS applications to use with the DB. Otherwise, how can the industry really review or promote the DB? I know that the MPL-licensed MvCMS project is underway @ U2UG, but I have a feeling that it is going to be a while before anything reviewable comes out of it. Besides, it's U2 based not DB2. Henrry Keultjes hbkeultjesat earthlinkdotnet Did anyone else notice the mention at the end of the extended article about "Hybrid Relational" and "XML" database features? Is 'hybrid relational' IBMspeak for MV? |

Anyone involved with U2 ever heard this before? |
