As ammo for your trebuchet, after you declare war on your
next door neighbor?

Tony,

Help me figure out what to do with this AP/Pro box. Right now it is acting
as a stand for my fax machine. Any other suggestions?

We used to use Prism terminals as step stools in the warehouse. But they
were so heavy to move.

Default Free dumb terminals - 05-05-2005 , 05:53 AM

Did not see the whole thread but, if someone is looking for dumb
terminals, I have two Esprit Opus II and about 10 Wyse, motly 60 but
also 30 and even a couple of the color terminals left. I have been
selling them on ebay but will rather donate to a Pick cause when there
is the possibility that someone from the Pick market might be able to
do me a favor sometime.

These are in Mansfield Ohio 44903. I have 16x16x16 new boxes to ship
the monitor in and make a seperate box for the kb or I use PC boxes.
Weight is about 60 lbs each.

When allowed a couple extra minutes to think about such things I
actually have been trying to think of a good use for an old AP/Pro
box, and I'm sorry but I can't think of one. If it was a real
workhorse then I'd suggest off-loading some indexing or trigger
functions. But nostalgia aside, I don't see AP/Pro as being that sort
of workhorse next to a current platform.

All I can think of as a good use for AP/Pro today is to test D3 code
against it to see if it's AP-compliant, but at this point we pretty
much know all of those arguments and they've been put to rest as
"fixed", "might be fixed", or "never will be fixed, time to recode".

Oh yeah, or you can do what some VARs do, and put one of your
customers on it. (I trust present company wouldn't do this and will
share in some of this cynical humor.) Then when the hard drive
crashes you can sell them a new system. Oh, and don't forget to tell
them not to run a backup for a few months, it's always fun to see
end-users squirm when they realize their business is totally screwed.
Given the number of times this happens, there must be Someone enjoying
it or you'd think people would take steps to prevent it, eh?
