Default Error 54 in D3/AIX - 10-08-2003 , 04:23 AM

One of my clients is having a problem, which seems to be getting worse. I
cannot find the cause or solution, although the get-around is simple - KILL
the session.

The problem is on a dumb terminal, in the despatch program, running in D3
under AIX on a PowerPC. Suddenly they get a message "error 54" and the
terminal starts bleeping. The only solution is to kill the process from
AIX - or from D3 using !kill. Trying to log the port off and resetting user
and port has no effect at all.

Has anyone experience the same or similar or maybe knows what "error 54"
means?

Thanks.

Neil.

Neil,

Error 54 means "Invalid Item Specification".

Exactly what that means is anybody's guess.

More importantly, what's the WHERE stack for the user when this happens?
