Default Don Nelson's Resume (circa. 1978) - 12-16-2005 , 01:19 PM

Dear Pick History Buffs,

Occasionally, I have time to dig out old goodies. In the 1985-86
timeframe I had the honor of interviewing Don Nelson at his home in
Valley Center, CA.

On that occasion he gave me this resume. Recently, Jim Stephens was
kind enough to scan it and post it for me (and for all of you).

That interview led me to other adventures researching Don's mentor:
Floyd George Steele

Sincerely,
John Bohner

John, and Jim: May not be a good idea to show his SSN!

This is GREAT, John. I was sent a copy of the 1965 GIRLS paper her
refers to on the 5th page. I have it scanned in, but don't yet have it
on the web site. I'll try to get that there soon.

INTERESTING that in those days it was "safe" to publish your Social
Security Number!
I suggest you black it out, rescan, and republish. In today's world, I
know I would be really pissed if someone published my SS Nbr. on the
Web for all to see.

The irony of this is that the resume was posted as a jpg, thus not
"searchable". By repeatedly commenting on the "personal identifying
number" on it in this forum, you have created a text document in usenet
that is easily searched and even indexed by by google, etc. So now
someone searching for the magic words that start with S and S and N are
lead right to the document.

BTW, is Don Nelson still alive? Today would be his 88th birthday!

No, he is no longer living. I could look up the date, but without
doing so, I can at least say that he died before Dick Pick did. --dawn

Dawn, etal.

The Social Security Death Index indicates that he died in 1988 in San
Diego. I have no reason to question that data.
